Once we align on the details, I’ll set you up with your client portal, where you’ll have access to your contract and planning questionnaire. Planning your session should feel easy! I’ll send you a Location Guide to help you pick the perfect spot and a Session Guide with everything you need to know. Plus, I offer complimentary styling advice and access to my client closet, so you don’t have to stress about outfits. I’ll even suggest color schemes and links to make shopping effortless.

You’ll receive your full gallery within two weeks—but I also send sneak peeks within 48 hours so you can share the excitement with friends and family. Your gallery will include a mix of candid and timeless images, carefully edited to reflect the beauty of your family.

It's typically recommended to plan your newborn session for within 7-14 days after birth if you want the sweet sleepy newborn images. This is not set in stone though, and I have photographed newborns that have been more than a month old and those have been some of my favorite sessions. I would much rather you book your session it's when you are ready! Don't put pressure on yourself to get photographs taken too early as this is such a huge period of transition for both you and your baby.
WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY SESSION?
When booking a session with Scarlet Oak Photography, you do not need to stress about what to wear. Not only to I send all of my clients a style guide for inspiration, I offer a client closet for moms and babies, and can also offer complimentary and custom styling advice for the entire family.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
I would love to photograph your family wherever you feel most comfortable. Do you prefer to keep your baby home for a little longer? I can travel and bring the studio to you!
Not ready for visitors, or simply don't want to worry about your house looking perfect? (My house looks like a tornado as a mom of 2!) I would love to have you in my cozy, private studio.
what location should i choose?
I only take a handful of newborn sessions each month. You never know exactly when you will deliver, or how recovery will go, so limiting my newborn bookings allows me to have the flexibility to move my schedule around to meet your needs. Due to this, I suggest booking your newborn session early, at least a few months before delivery.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK YOU?
Yes! I travel to document newborn sessions in my clients' own homes all the time. I do, however, try to stay within 1 hour of my studio in Cumming, GA.

HOW CAN I GET A QUOTE?
All of my sessions require a non-refundable retainer of $200. This holds your session date for you and ensures my availability for your newborn session.
