Whether you just welcomed your precious baby into the world or your baby is going off to college, family sessions are a great way to capture a particular season in your lives. At my core, I believe no moment is too mundane to capture, no day too average to celebrate. My family sessions are relaxed, laid-back experiences where your little ones can play freely (though maybe not in the mud!)
and your family can enjoy time together. At the end, you’ll receive a full gallery with a healthy mix of candid and traditional photos you’ll cherish for years to come. All sessions also include access to the client closet for moms as well as style guidance for the whole family so you never to stress about what to wear. Just show up, and I'll do the rest!

Once you fill out the form, I will personally reach out to you to learn more about your hopes for the session, as well as the timeline you are wanting to schedule for. Once we ensure that our visions and timelines align, I will get you set up with your client portal where you will have access to your contract, planning planning questionairre and collect your retainer to hold your session date.

Prep for Your Shoot
I love to make the process of planning your session super easy! I have a Location Guide which can help you pick a beautiful spot for your session and A Session Guide to help you know everything you need to know about planning process and what goes into our session. Stressed about planning outfits for the family? Don't worry! I also have the option for complimentary styling for your session, and can suggest color schemes, outfits, and even give you direct links to purchase outfits so the planning stress is gone, and all you need to do is press check-out.
I'll send you "all-the-things" for your big day - location ideas, outfit inspo, you name it!
Gallery Delivery
After our session, you can expect to receive your full gallery of images within 2 weeks. Can't wait? I also give sneak peeks for all of my sessions within 48 hours, so you have an image or share with your friends and family and build excitement for the full gallery reveal!

the Big Day
Here's where the fun begins! On our session day, we will meet at the chosen location and begin making beautiful memories. I love to let the children take the lead, and incorporate play into our sessions to get the genuine smiles and authentic personalities weaved into our session. You will be given prompts to elicit real connection between your family, rather than simply stiff and awkward posing.

Print Ordering
Though you are given a full gallery of images and a print release, purchasing prints through Scarlet Oak Photography is the best way to ensure the highest, heirloom quality prints and albums. I use a professional print lab for all of my prints and products, ensuring you receive the truest color tones and clarity in your images, as well as the highest quality of paper choices to allow your images to last generations.

I would love to document your memories for whenever is best for your family! Lots of families prefer to update their family portraits in the early spring or fall, as Georgia's weather and scenery are beautiful during those times of year. The most common times for family sessions are during March-April and October-November.
WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY SESSION?
When booking a session with Scarlet Oak Photography, you do not need to stress about what to wear. Not only to I send all of my clients a style guide for inspiration, I offer a client closet for moms and babies, and can also offer complimentary and custom styling advice for the entire family.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
I would love to photograph your you and your wherever you feel most comfortable. Have a sentimental location in mind? Always dreamed of a family session in the mountains? I would love to make that happen for you!
Don't want to worry about the unpredictable Georgia weather? Prefer the look a a studio session? I would love to have you at my cozy, private studio here in Cumming.
what location should i choose?
I have availability for family sessions year round! I would love to document your memories for whenever is best for your family. Typically the months of October-November are the busiest for photographers so if you are looking for a session during those months, I suggest booking at least 1-2 months in advance.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK YOU?
Yes! I travel to document family sessions all the time. I would love to meet you in a location that is sentimental to you, but also have a list of my favorite locations to share with you as well. I do, however, try to stay within 1 hour of my studio in Cumming, GA.

HOW CAN I GET A QUOTE?
All of my sessions require a non-refundable retainer of $200. This holds your session date for you and ensures my availability for your newborn session.
